The AC Infinity AIRTITAN T8 is a wall-mounted ventilator built for the one place a normal inline fan struggles: a crawl space or subfloor where the fan itself has to sit in the damp. Dual 120 mm DC fans behind a stainless steel frame, IP-55 rated against moisture and dust, moving 408 m³/h · 113 L/s (240 CFM) at 32 dBA on 6.5 W. The WiFi controller and a 3.7 m sensor probe are in the box. Genuine AC Infinity, stocked in Sydney with an Australian plug fitted.
The simplest subfloor install there is
A ducted inline fan is the usual answer to a damp subfloor, and it means crawling under the house with a fan, a metre of duct, clamps and a mounting strap. The AIRTITAN T8 skips all of that. The whole unit is a 45.7 x 22.8 x 4.0 cm backplate that mounts flat over an existing vent opening or a cut opening in the subfloor wall, horizontally or vertically. There is no duct run, no silencer and nothing hanging from a joist.
That matters most where clearance is low. If you can only crawl through the space, fitting a ducted system in there is a long uncomfortable job; fitting a backplate to a wall from outside is not.
Why IP-55 is the specification that counts here
Most ventilation fans are not rated for the environment they get put in. A subfloor is humid by definition, often has airborne dust and sand, and after heavy rain can be genuinely wet. An unrated fan in that environment fails at the bearings or the motor windings, usually a season or two in.
The T8's dual 120 mm fans are IP-55 rated — protected against dust and against water jetted from any direction — behind a stainless steel mounting frame with spiral guards. The bearings are dual ball, rated to an L10 life of 67,000 hours. It is built to sit in the damp and keep running, which is the entire point.
It runs on humidity, not on a timer
The onboard controller is a thermostat and a dehumidistat, not a switch. Set a humidity threshold and the fan starts when the subfloor crosses it and stops when it drops back — which matters, because on a humid night a fan running blindly pulls damper air in than the air already under there. You can also set VPD targets, timers, cycles, a daily schedule, and a minimum baseline speed so there is always some air movement.
The included 3.7 m (12 ft) corded probe is what makes that work: it goes where the damp actually is, not where the controller happens to be mounted. Over WiFi, the AC Infinity app adds remote access, alerts, historical charts and CSV export, so you can see whether the fan is actually shifting the humidity rather than guessing.
Check your passive vents before you buy this. A large share of damp subfloors are houses whose wall vents have been painted over, rendered across, buried by a garden bed or built over by a deck. Clearing them is free, and some subfloors need nothing else. Our subfloor ventilation guide covers how to check yours first, and is equally clear about when a fan is the wrong answer. A fan also needs somewhere to draw makeup air from — if every intake vent is blocked, it moves far less than its rating suggests.
T8 or a ducted inline fan?
| Your situation | What suits it |
|---|---|
| Low clearance, or the fan has to sit in the damp | AIRTITAN T8. Mounts to the wall, no duct, IP-55. |
| Large footprint, or the duct must bend around piers | A 200 mm subfloor kit — more airflow and it can reach a dead corner the T8 cannot. |
| The fan sits directly under a bedroom floor | A VIND silenced inline fan, with the acoustic chamber built into the fan. |
| Garage, shed or workshop wall | A shutter exhaust fan, which seals itself when it stops. |
Most average homes land on one 200 mm ducted fan or two smaller units. Two fans at opposite ends generally beat one larger fan in the middle, because cross-flow matters more than total airflow. The full range sits on the subfloor and underfloor ventilation page.

Questions we get asked
Will one T8 be enough for my subfloor?
Work from volume, not floor area. Floor area times average ground-to-bearer clearance gives the volume; multiply by your target air changes per hour. One T8 suits a small to medium subfloor or a single problem zone. Larger footprints usually want two units at opposite ends for cross-flow, or one ducted 200 mm fan. Send us the dimensions and the clearance and we will tell you which we would fit.
How does the airflow compare with a ceiling or bathroom exhaust fan?
Installers rate exhaust fans in m³/h or L/s. The AIRTITAN T8 moves up to 408 m³/h (113 L/s) at full speed. For comparison, the National Construction Code minimum for a bathroom or toilet is 25 L/s (90 m³/h), and 40 L/s (144 m³/h) for a kitchen or laundry, discharged outdoors rather than into the roof space. Real airflow drops with grilles, screens and blocked intake vents. The AIRTITAN is rated at 53.5 Pa static pressure, so it is built to mount straight over a wall opening rather than push through a long duct run. Check the requirements for your job with your installer.
Should it exhaust or draw air in?
Exhaust. Pull air out of the dampest side and let fresh air draw in through the existing vents on the opposite side. That puts the void under slight negative pressure so damp subfloor air is not pushed up through floor gaps into the house. This unit is the exhaust model; AC Infinity also make an intake version, so check you are ordering the right one if you specifically need to push air in.
Will it fix rising damp?
No, and it is worth being clear before you order. It exchanges humid air for drier outside air, which lowers moisture enough that mould, musty smells and timber rot lose their hold. It does nothing about the source. Standing water, a blocked or badly graded drain, a leaking pipe, an air conditioner condensate line or a failed damp course are building problems and need fixing as building problems. If the subfloor is visibly wet rather than merely humid, deal with the water first.
Can I run it continuously?
Yes — at 6.5 W it is built for it, and the bearings are rated to 67,000 hours. A humidity threshold is still better than continuous running, because it stops the fan pulling in air that is damper than what is already under the floor.
Do I need an electrician?
Not necessarily. It ships with an Australian three-pin plug and a 2.4 m lead, so if there is a suitable outlet within reach the job is cutting the opening and mounting the plate. If you want it hard-wired or need a new power point fitted, that part is an electrician's job.
Will I hear it inside the house?
32 dBA is around the level of a quiet bedroom at night, and that figure is at full speed — which is not the speed it will normally run once it is on a humidity threshold. It is wall-mounted rather than bolted to a joist, so there is no vibration path into the floor above, which is the usual reason a subfloor fan becomes audible.
Do I need the WiFi, or does it work on its own?
It works fully on its own. The onboard controller handles the thermostat, dehumidistat, VPD, timers, cycles and schedule without any app or account. WiFi adds remote access, alerts, historical charts and CSV export — useful for proving the humidity is actually coming down, but not required to run the fan.
Is this genuine stock with an Australian warranty?
Yes. Quick Bloom Lights is the official Australian importer and distributor for AC Infinity. Stock is held in Sydney, orders ship domestically, and warranty is handled here rather than through an overseas seller.
