A conventional fan heater pushes air over an exposed element that glows. It is hot enough to scorch anything that touches it, it dries the air it heats, and it has two or three crude settings.
PTC (positive temperature coefficient) plates behave differently: the ceramic's resistance rises as it warms, so it self-limits at a working temperature rather than climbing until something cuts it off. Combined with PWM control across the plates, that gives ten genuine heat levels rather than low/medium/high, and a surface that is not a fire risk in a fabric tent. The Thermoforge T7 also runs as a plain intake fan with the heat off, so the same unit pulls cool outside air in when the room is running warm.
Ducted, so the heat goes where you want it
Dual 100 mm (4″) ports mean the unit does not have to sit in the middle of the space blowing at the nearest thing. Duct the output to where the cold actually is — along the floor, or up into a canopy that sits well below room temperature — and duct the intake from outside the tent if you want to draw fresh air rather than recirculate. A thermal-resistant hose is the right ducting for the hot side; ordinary flexible ducting is not rated for it.
The heater carries its own temperature and VPD programming with a corded sensor probe, so it works standalone. It is also a UIS™ device, which means an AC Infinity controller can run it alongside your extraction fan and humidifier on one set of climate targets — and that matters more than it sounds, because heating and extraction fight each other if they are following separate rules.
When a heater is the wrong answer
Worth saying plainly, because we would rather not sell you one you do not need. A heater fixes a space that is genuinely too cold. It does not fix these:

Straight answer: if your space sits within a few degrees of where you want it and drifts at night, a Thermoforge holds it steady and is the right buy. If it is ten degrees cold in an uninsulated shed, insulation will do more for you than any 1000 W heater, and we would rather tell you that now.
Safety and installation
The T7 is ETL-certified and ships with an Australian three-pin plug. It carries overheat protection with auto-restart, a tip-over cut-off, and flame-retardant housing materials. Rated operating range is −10 to 60°C at 30–65% RH, and power draw is 1000 W at maximum — less at the lower levels, which is where most installations settle once the space is up to temperature.
Stand it on a firm level surface, keep the intake and outlet clear, and use thermal-resistant ducting on the hot side. As with any heater, do not run it hard against fabric or plastic, and any fixed electrical work in the space is a licensed electrician's job.
FAQ
What size space will a 1000 W heater hold?
There is no honest single answer, because it depends far more on insulation and outside temperature than on floor area. As a working guide, 1000 W comfortably holds a tent up to around 1.5 × 1.5 m (5×5) inside a heated house, and struggles in an uninsulated garage or shed through a cold snap regardless of tent size. If the space is outside the house, insulate it before you size the heater.
Does it need a controller?
No. It has temperature and VPD programming built in with its own sensor probe, so it runs on its own out of the box. Connecting it to a UIS controller is worth doing when you have other climate gear, so the heater and the extraction fan are working to the same targets rather than undoing each other.
How much power does it use?
1000 W at full heat. That figure only applies while it is actually heating at maximum — on the lower levels, and once the space is holding temperature, draw is a fraction of it. Run it on a target rather than flat out and it spends most of its time well below the rated figure.
Can I duct it into a sealed tent?
Yes, and ducting is the better way to use it. Use thermal-resistant ducting on the output — standard flexible ducting is not rated for the outlet temperature. Bear in mind that heating a sealed space raises temperature and drops relative humidity together, so check what that does to your VPD rather than watching temperature alone.
Is it safe to leave running unattended?
It is built for it — ETL certification, overheat cut-off, tip-over protection and flame-retardant materials are all there for exactly that. Sensible precautions still apply: firm level footing, clear airflow at both ports, and thermal-resistant ducting on the hot side. If you want a warning when something moves out of range while you are away, a UIS controller with app alerts is the addition worth making.
What about the smaller Thermoforge T3?
The T3 has been retired. The 1000 W T7 is the Thermoforge in the range now, and it covers the T3's use case as well — the ten heat levels mean a 1000 W unit runs gently in a small space rather than being oversized for it. If you own a T3, it is unaffected: it stays a UIS device and keeps working with your controller.
