How many times can I reuse one?
Zip-Zag's own position is that the bags open, close and reuse many times without compromising the seal, and that the zipper keeps its integrity through repeated use. In practice people retire them when the film gets scuffed or punctured rather than because the closure has given up. Wash and dry fully between uses if the contents were sticky.
Do I need a heat sealer?
No — the zipper alone is what most people use, and Zip-Zag rate it as equivalent to a heat seal. The flange is there for when you want a batch closed permanently, such as long-term storage or transport. Because the flange sits above the zipper, cutting it off later gives you back an ordinary resealable bag.
Which size should I buy?
Work from what you actually store in one go rather than the largest batch you have ever had. The 28 g bag in a 25 pack is the workhorse for most people; the 250 g and 1 lb sizes suit dividing a harvest into portions, and the 1 kg bag is for bulk that is going away for a while. All four use the same film and the same zipper.
How many Integra Boost packs go in a bag?
Match the pack to the weight of contents, not the size of the bag — see the table above. As a rule of thumb one 8 g pack covers up to 28 g, so a part-filled 250 g bag holding 50 g wants two of them. Under-packing is the common mistake and it shows up as material drying out over a few weeks.
Will the bag hold humidity on its own?
It will hold whatever you seal in, which is the point — but it does not set the level. If material goes in slightly too damp, a sealed bag keeps it that way. Dry it properly first on a drying rack, then let an Integra pack hold the level from there.
